Common Cancers
Cancer is a generic term used to describe the many different types of diseases in which abnormal cells divide out of control, and may spread to other parts of the body through blood, the lymph system or to the surrounding tissue.
There are more than one hundred different types of cancer, they are named either after the organ where they start, such as kidney caner or colon cancer or after the type of cell they start in.
