George Rigakos MD, MSc
Clinical Specialty: Medical Oncology
Current Title: Medical Oncologist, Consultant at the 3rd Oncology Department of Hygeia Hospital, Athens Greece and the Contemporary Oncology Team.
Born in Sparta in 1979, Dr. George Rigakos graduated from the 2nd High School of Sparta in 1997 when he entered the Athens Medical School. He graduated with Merit in 2003.
After completing his social service in primary care at the General Hospital of Molaoi and his military service in 2008, he participated the post-graduate student program of “Hygeia” Hospital in Athens with honors. At the same time he worked as a junior – trainee doctor with Dr. Evangelia Razis’. In 2010 he took MSc in Molecular Medicine in the Medical School of Athens.
From 2008 till 2011 he did his residency in Internal medicine at the General Hospital of Athens, “Laiko”. From 2011 to 2014, he completed his medical Oncology Fellowship at the General Hospital of Athens “Alexandra”. Within the last year of fellowship, he attended six-month training in the Royal Marsden Hospital in London in gynecologic malignancies, renal cancer and melanoma, with scholarship from the Hellenic Society of Medical Oncology (HeSMO).
Dr. Rigakos has been a member of the Contemporary Oncology Team as a Consultant Oncologist since September 2014.

- Medical License in Greek, February 2004.
- Member of the Athens Medical Association, March 2007.
- Member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), September 2008.
- American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Full Member.
He is fluent in Greek and English.
